About

Veronica Hendrix is Los Angeles based journalist, food influencer, home cooking coach, recipe developer, food judge and Food Network finalist. She is the creator of the blog collardgreensandcaviar.com where she shares recipes and tells stories featuring food enthusiasts and culinary experts in addition to her own forays into the kitchen. In 2023 she was selected as an ambassador to represent the United States at Host Milano, an international hospitality and trade show hosted in Italy. Veronica is the 2023 winner of the nation-wide Barilla Your Pasta is Your Blank Canvas Recipe with her Short Rib Lasagna and Spicy Diaspora Sauce recipe. She was the project manager and co-writer of the Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper “Taste of Soul Cookbook” published in 2013. Veronica has over 25 years of experience in journalism, media relations, public affairs and emergency management. After 28 years working with the City of Los Angeles, she retired as an emergency manager. Veronica has an undergrad in Journalism from California State University Northridge, and recently received her Associates Arts degree in Culinary Arts from Los Angeles Trade Technical College; and she is a member of the American Culinary Federation. Veronica lives in Los Angeles and has two adult children and three grandchildren.

This workshop will share inspiration, information, and techniques to prepare tasty, healthy and beautiful home cooked meals. This workshop includes three food demos which include: making your own mayonnaise, salad dressing and the art of a simple pan sauté with a umami flair.
